O-1 Seminar for Journalists: Obtaining The Goal, Crafting the Narrative. 9/30/2021 at 3PM ET.
The past five years have reminded all of us how important journalists are to the functioning of our Republic. From politics to science, to public health, from the economy to the changing social trends in American life, journalists are at the center of a complex national conversation. Within the realm of US journalism, international reporters play a critical role, offering diverse voices and perspectives in that all-important conversation.
The O-1 Extraordinary Ability Visa category in the arts favors writers and journalists who play out their careers actively in public. Given this emphasis, journalists enjoy distinct advantages in the O-1 category.
At Dyer Harris LLP, it has been our honor and pleasure to represent numerous journalists in the O-1 category. We are intimately familiar with both the advantages and challenges faced by journalists in meeting the O-1 criteria. We will be holding a Zoom-based seminar on O-1s for journalists on September 30, 2021, at 3 pm ET to discuss these advantages and challenges. In this seminar we will explore the best strategies for journalists seeking O-1 status. We will also explore how journalists can fully use the employment authorization conferred by O-1 to benefit their careers in the United Status.
As a firm, we are mindful of the breathtaking variety of endeavor embraced by the term “journalism”: print (including online), video, podcast, documentary film, authorship of books and more. O-1 is an ideal platform for international writers and journalists seeking to practice their profession in the US. This program should be extremely valuable for both recent graduates of J-School and veteran journalists alike.
We invite all interested international writers and journalists to join our Zoom seminar by writing to email@example.com. We will forward to you a Zoom invitation for the event. We look forward to seeing you there.
